Use this guide when your organization has approved the Microsoft 365 connector for Claude and completed its setup. Each person still needs to connect their own Microsoft 365 work account.
Before you connect
- Sign in to the correct company Claude workspace. Here's how to check your workspace.
- Use your Microsoft 365 work account. Personal Microsoft accounts are not supported by this connector.
- If you do not know whether your organization has approved the connector, check with 2Fifteen Tech support first.
Connect your account
- Open Claude in your browser and go to Customize > Connectors.
- Find Microsoft 365 and select Connect.
- Sign in with your Microsoft 365 work email. If several accounts are offered, choose the account that has your work email and files.
- Complete your normal Microsoft verification and follow the prompts to return to Claude.
If you see Need admin approval, an organization restriction, or a message that setup is incomplete, contact 2Fifteen Tech support. Those settings need an administrator's review.
Test the connection
Ask a specific question about a file you can already open in Microsoft 365, such as Find the project plan in SharePoint. Include the file name or site name to narrow the search, and open the source link in Claude's answer to check the result.
If Microsoft 365 is unavailable in a particular chat, use the + menu in that chat, choose Connectors, and check that Microsoft 365 is enabled.
What access does this give Claude?
The connector uses your existing Microsoft 365 permissions. It does not grant you access to files or mailboxes you could not already access. The tools available to you also depend on your organization's settings.
Some organizations enable tools that can send messages or change files and calendar events. Review the action before allowing it. Connecting the account and using it to search are separate from authorizing changes.
If it does not work
Confirm that you can open the same file or email directly in Microsoft 365 and that it is stored in SharePoint, OneDrive, or Outlook rather than only on your computer. Recently added files may take time to appear in search.
Contact 2Fifteen Tech support with your work email, the exact error, whether the problem is signing in or finding content, and whether you can open that content directly. Do not include passwords or verification codes.
You can disconnect your own account under Customize > Connectors > Microsoft 365 > Disconnect.
