If a change on your computer is missing from Drive, start here.
Before you start: Save open work. Keep any file with missing changes. Contact 2Fifteen Tech before disconnecting your account, reinstalling Drive, or clearing its cache.
Step 1: Check what Drive is doing
- Click the Google Drive icon in the Mac menu bar or Windows notification area. On Windows, check the hidden icons arrow too.
- Confirm the account email address.
- Check Sync status and Sync activity. Older versions may show Activity instead.
- If syncing is paused, resume it. Note any error beside the affected file.
Step 2: Restart Drive
- Check that your internet connection works.
- In Drive, click Settings > Quit.
- Open Google Drive again. If needed, restart your computer after saving your work.
Open Drive in your browser and check the affected file for your latest changes.
If Drive says Lost & Found
Open the folder from Drive's notification. Copy the unsynced files to a separate, approved local folder outside Google Drive. Keep the originals and contact us to check the copies before reconnecting anything. Disconnecting your account can delete Lost & Found files.
Mac permission errors
Open System Settings > Privacy & Security > Files and Folders. Check Google Drive's access to the folder you are trying to sync. If a setting is locked or missing, contact us.
Still not syncing?
Contact 2Fifteen Tech support with the error screenshot, affected file name, account email, and when the problem started. Tell us whether your latest edits appear in the browser.
