Unexpected Drive files can be spam or phishing. You do not need to open a file or follow links inside it to report it.
Report a shared file
- Open Google Drive and select Shared with me.
- Right-click the unwanted file or folder.
- Select Block or report > Report.
- Choose the reason. Review whether to block the sender, then submit the report.
Reporting moves the item to Spam and sends a report to Google. Items in Spam are automatically removed after 30 days. Reporting a folder also marks its contents as spam.
A legitimate file went to Spam
- Open Spam in Drive.
- Right-click the file or folder.
- Select Not spam.
You cannot report items owned by you or someone in your organization as spam.
If you are unsure
Contact 2Fifteen Tech support with a screenshot and the sender's address. If you entered a password or downloaded anything from an unexpected file, tell us right away.
